Vehicle Immobilization Services was implemented at CORE in September 1997. The law requires impoundment or immobilization of the vehicle driven by, or in the actual physical control of, or any one vehicle registered in the offender's name at the time of impoundment or immobilization, of the person who is convicted of DUI unless the court finds that the family of the owner of the vehicle has no other public or private transportation. The vehicle must be impounded or immobilized for a minimum of 10 days, 30 days for the second conviction within 3 years, or 90 days for a third conviction within 5 years. This component is under the umbrella of probation services.

Cost: $85.00 for installation or removal. Additional charges may apply if the vehicle is not accessible to the installation officer at the agreed upon time.
