The D.A.T.E. Online Course satisfies Florida 's traffic law and substance abuse education course requirements for first-time license applicants.

The online course requires a total of four hours of course time.  At the end of four hours a 40 question multiple choice test must be passed to complete the course and allow your completion information to be transmitted electronically to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.  You must answer 32 of the 40 questions correctly to pass the exam.

After registering, completing the course and passing the final test, your information will be transmitted electronically to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and appear in their system in approximately 48 hours of completion. You will not receive a certificate.

Once you register you will have 90 days to complete the course.  You may take the course at any time of day and pause or exit the course at any time.  If you exit the course or have your Internet connection disrupted your total time spent at that point is recorded.  You may re-enter the course by entering your test key and you will be redirected back to the position in the course where you exited.

ONLINE RESTRICTED LICENSE TESTING NOW AVAILABLE!

Students who successfully complete the MyFirstLicense.com course are now eligible to take their restricted driver license examination ONLINE.

1.      Upon successful completion of the course, it is recommended that you study the Florida Driver's Handbook before taking the test to receive your restricted license. Go to your local driver's license office to pick up your copy today!

2.      Then, you may simply logon to www.myfirstlicense.net to register for the online test.

3.      Cost for the test is $20.00, payable at the time of online registration. If you fail the test, an additional fee of $7.00 will be charged for retakes of the test. You will be allowed ONLY two retakes.  If you do not pass the exam after three attempts, you must go to the driver's license office for the test.

4.      Upon successful completion of the online test, notification will automatically be sent to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

5.      Go to your local Driver's License office to apply for your restricted license. The Driver's License office will charge an additional $20.00 for the vision test, the hearing test and the photograph taken upon
