Terms and Conditions

You have chosen to take the Drug, Alcohol, Traffic Education course (D.A.T.E.™) via MyFirstLicense.com, a venture of the Florida Association of DUI Programs. It is our sincere hope that this information will help you become a safe, conscientious, and sober driver as a result of this course content.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BEGIN.

You may scroll through the reading materials at your leisure, as many times as you like. The program will give you credit for sections previously completed by tracking the time you spend viewing each page. A lost internet connection during a section may result in a loss of time, however, such a loss will be minimal. To prevent a loss of time, we encourage you to use the “sign out” feature located at the top of each page which will allow you to resume the course. You may log off your computer, and rejoin the course at a later date.

You may always scroll back through the reading materials at any time, prior to advancing to the test questions. You may complete the course in one sitting or over a period of time, not to exceed 90 days from the original date of enrollment.

There is no need to send any paperwork to our office. Everything can be handled via the Internet.

Course Completion Requirements

Successful completion of the online D.A.T.E. course requires a score of at least 80% on the final test. You must answer at least 32 of the 40 questions correctly.

You will complete a 40-question pretest before beginning the course that will be similar to the 40 questions you will see on the final or posttest. The Florida Association of DUI Programs will use the results of the 40-question pretest for future research and development purposes. You will also answer a few review questions throughout the course, following each section. These questions will also be similar to the 40 questions you will see on the final test, however, you will automatically see an explanation for any incorrect answers you select on the review questions. This will give you an opportunity to then select the correct answer before proceeding to the next question and the next section.

If you answer at least 32 of the 40 questions correctly on the posttest, a notice of successful completion of the course will appear on your computer screen within a very short time after submission of your answers. Your notice will also provide you with an explanation of any incorrect answers you selected on the posttest. You may print the notice for future reference.

If you fail the final or posttest, a notice of failure to successfully complete the course will appear on your computer screen within a very short time after submission of your answers. Your notice will also provide you with an explanation of any incorrect answers you selected on the posttest. You may print the notice for future reference. You will be permitted to retake the course and posttest at no charge, one time only. You must contact the Florida Association of DUI Programs at 1-800-953-3237 within 72 hours of unsuccessful completion to request access to the course. Your retake of the course will not be time, however, you must complete the course and any retake of the course within 90 days following the initial enrollment to avoid the requirement of re-enrollment and paying the program fees again.

If you fail to complete the course within 90 days following the initial enrollment date, you will be required to re-enroll in the course and pay the program fees again. Requests for extension of the 90-day time limit will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be made to the Florida Association of DUI Programs at 1-800-953-3237 during normal business hours and days, must be made at least 72 hours prior to the expiration of the 90-day time limit, and may require further written information or documentation for consideration in the request.
